How to Fix Autel IM608PRO Fail Add Key for 2011 KIA?
Question:
To add a spare for a second-hand 2011 KIA,
The
IM608PRO Tablet can't generate PIN code, so went to a third party site to get a PIN code, but the system wouldn't accept it and it failed.
Reason:
Non-immobilizer related fault codes in Engine Control Unit may block key registration.
Solution:
Step 1.Clear DTC
Go to
Diagnostics>>Auto VIN>>Kia (USA)>>Diagnoses>>Auto Scan>>ENG(Engine)>>Trouble codes
Only one DTC here: P0106

Back to "Auto Scan", click "Quick Erase".
Successfully erase.
If it fails, we have to check error source then go back to add keys.
Step 2.Read PIN
IMMO>>Auto VIN>>USA>>Smart key>>Immo status scan
Select
Read PIN>>Read Pin code (46 smart card)>>Read Pincode by OBD
Autel IM608PRO actually can get PIN code.
Step 3.Add Key
Back to Immo status,
Select "Add key (guided)".

Turn off ignition and dash will turn dark.
Enter PIN.

Put original and new key into ignition to learn one by one.

Autel IM608 PRO.
